| Although we compared the Infiniti G37 Coupe with its smaller cousin the Nissan Z, we expect the G37 to be cross-shopped against the likes of the BMW 335i Coupe. Interior accouterments and materials are comparable for the two coupes. Cabin tech may be a draw as well, depending on whether the BMW is equipped with the newest version of iDrive. Despite the Infiniti's extra 30 horsepower, we feel that the BMW has an edge in handling, putting the two vehicles once again on equal footing. Consider the price tag and suddenly the balance shifts wildly. Our 2009 G37 Coupe with all-wheel drive starts at $38,700, before adding a $3,000 premium package (including moonroof, Bose audio with iPod connectivity, and Bluetooth), the $2,200 navigation system with Music Box, $1,650 for 18-inch wheels, $550 for wood trim, and $300 for illuminated kick plates. The final tally is $47,245, including an $815 destination fee. That may be a pretty penny, but an equally equipped 2009 BMW 335i xDrive Coupe tips the scales at $57,591, more than $10,000 more expensive. Looked at through this lens, the Infiniti G37 Coupe represents a tremendous value. |

| I recall being beyond smitten when the first G coupes and sedans rolled out, the design bearing a sort of heritage look mixed with a modern slope that made the Infiniti one of the most beautiful cars on the road. I still think the Coupe is gorgeous. While I have always appreciated BMW's outstanding driving charachterisitics, I was drawn more to the value of features, performance, design and comfort Infiniti offered. The new G37 continues on the same path, though the design of the sedan has softened to be less of a standout, mostly to appeal to a broader audience. The good thing about that is the G37 becomes less ostentatious, less flashy for those who like to keep quiet about their wealth and possesions. What hasn't changed is the delightful feel behind the wheel of these cars. The G37 feels tight, spirited, and fast. It handles with amazing precision, yet rides quietly and comfortably when the moment demands. And it gets decent fuel economy too. I averaged a little more than 9.3L/100 km over a week of driving - and I wasn't treading lightly. The G37 is, without question, one of the finest mid-size sedans on the market today. It comes very close to delivering all that a BMW 3 Series offers, but for less money and with a little less sizzle. For many people, that's exactly what they want from their car. |

| Take a peek at Consumer Reports' analysis of the M and it's an “all-red” affair. Red dots are an indication of stellar reliability, whereas solid black dots spell out potential trouble areas. Mercedes has certainly rebounded with new reliable models, but when you factor in initial purchase price, cost of ownership, and resale value, again, the M is a big winner. |

| Maybe it’s the maple trim talking, but this was one presser that was definitely hard to let go of (and maybe because I was being watched?) There is definitely a fine line between gadgetry and design execution, a line that has become blurred with the attitudes of some manufacturers adhering to a philosophy of Buttonmania. The EX is the standard by which technology and design should be both married and judged, in the entry-level luxury sport utility segment. Five glorious stars. |

| The FX35 and FX50 are a showcase for Infiniti’s advanced technology, and as you would expect, incorporate a comprehensive array of standard and available convenience and performance features. |
| But both vehicles really shine with their handling. The FX is a supremely balanced machine in which you can change direction as quick as you can change your mind — you point, it goes: that’s all. The comparatively low centre of gravity also helps with handling and, also very important, appearance, as this is a very smart vehicle. |
