Intelligent All-Wheel Drive
Infiniti created Intelligent AWD to give you all-wheel-drive traction when it's slick and rear-wheel-drive responsiveness when it's not. By constantly monitoring wheelspin, throttle position, and vehicle speed, the system responds by automatically sending up to 50% of available power to the front wheels, Intelligent AWD instantly adapts to changing conditions. And on AWD models, Snow mode reduces throttle sensitivity to help avoid wheelspin during initial acceleration.
 
Rear Active Steer

Dynamic Audio
The available premium 2-channel Bose® audio system features eight strategically placed speakers. Included in the Interface System for iPod® that allows you to have full command of your iPod® through audio controls. Or opt for the Bose® Studio Surround® sound system and upgrade to digital 5.1 decoding and a multi-media drive with 14 speakers, including personal surround speakers in the shoulders of each front seat for an intimate experience. Surrounded-stage processing sends each audio channel to specific speakers for balanced surround sound.
 
Music Box
The available 9.3GB built-in Music Box hard drive allows you to personally catalog your music. It gives you the power to rip up to 2,900 songs and then store and catalog them by title, artist, mood, or other categories. Create extensive playlists to easily access and enjoy the soundtrack to your drive. A compact flash card can also be inserted into the dash slot to listen to your playlists from home.
 
RearView Monitor
When you engage reverse, the optional RearView Monitor helps you see what's directly behind you. Impact Protection
The Infiniti Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) provides dual-stage supplemental front air bags with sensors that adjust inflation rates depending on crash severity and seat belt usage. Front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags help provide additional protection for both front and rear occupants. Front-seat Active Head Restraints that help reduce whiplash-type injuries; seat belt pretensioners and zone body construction that helps maintain the integrity of passenger compartment also help reduce risk of injury.
 
Lane Departure Prevention
Because you can never be too careful or too cautious on the road, the Infiniti M is the first automobile in the U.S. to provide safety technology designed to help keep a vehicle in its travel lane. It utilizes a camera to monitor the distance between the vehicle and lane markings and when the vehicle drifts unintentionally towards the lane markers, the system first sounds an audible warning. Then it will apply brakes to certain wheels to help gently move the vehicle back into its lane.
 
Advanced Braking
In emergency braking situations, many drivers don't brake hard enough, soon enough. Brake Assist helps apply the maximum brake force you need to help prevent collision. The available Preview Braking function usues the Intelligent Cruise Control laser sensors to detect a rapidly slowing vehicle ahead; then pre-pressurizes the braking system in anticipation of emergency braking. Safety features designed to give you the security and confidence you desire.
 
Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)
Employing sensors that monitor steering input as well as vehicle speed, this system turns the HID xenon headlights when you turn, directing the light where it is needed most - helping you see what lies around the curves in the road ahead.
