Safety

Galant’s safety systems extend beyond air bags and crumple zones. The body structure is more rigid for 2007, and includes high-strength reinforcements in the side sills, behind the dash and across the floor. Not one but two tubular steel beams guard each door.

Both driver and front passenger are provided with advanced front air bags with two-stage inflators, as well as seat-mounted side-impact air bags.† New for 2007, standard roof-mounted curtain air bags add a layer of protection for front and outboard rear seats.

Every 2007 Galant is equipped with front seat-belt pre-tensioners that are designed to tighten the belts in certain frontal impacts, helping to control occupant motion. Standard belt-force limiters help the front seat belts and front air bags to work together optimally.
