Available Navigation System

Galant's DVD-based navigation system features a 7-inch touch screen with user-selectable map modes, zoom levels and color schemes. It even includes an industry first Diamond Lane Navigation Guidance™ system that allows drivers to navigate a route exclusively using carpool/HOV lanes.

Rockford Acoustic Design

Galant's top-of-the-line audio system comes from Rockford Acoustic Design®. It's a 360-watt continuous system standard on Galant RALLIART and GT. An 8-channel amplifier delivers 360 watts of power with a dedicated channel for each speaker, each of which features proprietary diaphragms and rigid composite frames for extreme clarity.

It's not often such sporty performance can be experienced in such spacious surroundings. Consider it a happy irony. For while Galant's drivetrain and suspension are taming the twisted ribbon of asphalt below, its 2,800+Cubic-Litre Cabin is spoiling you in the climate-controlled comfort of fabric or leather-trimmed seating and handsome balckwood or brownwood trim. Don't try to make sense of it. Just enjoy.

Automatic Climate Control

Rounding out the list of RALLIART's upscale standard features is an automatic climate control system with "set it and forget it" adjustment, sporty orange lighting and crisp silver dials.

Powered Driver's Seat

Galant drivers will never have trouble finding just the right seating with the heated, powered driver's seat that comes standard on RALLIART models. Eight ways of adjustability, including a manual adjustable lumbar support, give you unexpected comfort in any position.

Quality construction begins with a strong foundation and Galant is no exception. Beneath its sleek exterior is a rigid body structure with high-strength reinforcements at all crucial points and tubular steel beams in all the doors. We created front and rear crumple zones and added a full complement of Airbags*. The simple truth is, confidence is one thing that's never overbuilt.

*Airbags are part of a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). To decrease the risk of injury from a deploying airbag, always wear your seat belt, sit upright in the middle of the seat, and do not lean against the door. Always place children 12 and under in the rear seat and use appropriate child restraints. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat. See your Owner’s Manual and instructions provided with your child restraint for additional information.

Active Safety Technology

We gave every Galant standard disc brakes with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). ABS helps prevent individual wheels from locking up under hard braking while EBD electronically adjusts braking force between front and rear axles to help reduce stopping distance. Both V6 models up the ante with Mitsubishi's high-tech Traction Control. Logic (TCL) traction control system, which modulates the throttle and brakes to provide more sure-footed acceleration.

Strong Unibody Design

A remarkably stiff body structure and well-designed crumple zones give Galant excellent protection in the event of an accident. It shrugs off low-speed crash testing too. In tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2007 Galant stood out among the mid-size sedans tested with the lowest total cost to repair of any other model.

Independent Rear Suspension

With its independent low-mount multi-link rear suspension (shared with the sporty Eclipse coupe), Galant has the foundation of a true sport sedan. Each wheel can tackle bumps and dips on its own, resulting in a smoother ride, better handling and a more stable feeling.
